On March 28, Ambasada organized Supabase Meetup – LW14 Edition, an event dedicated to developers, startup founders, and tech enthusiasts from Constanța. The discussions focused on modern tools such as Supabase, Trigger.dev, Firebase Genkit and their applications in developing scalable and intelligent products.

The event took place at the new Ambasada, a space specially created to support startups, tech professionals, and local investors. Co-founded by Teodora Moraru and Cătălin Cenac, Ambasada aims to become a key reference point for innovation, collaboration, and development in Constanța.
What We Learned from the Speakers

Alex StrezaProduct Engineer at OKAPI Studio a tech studio that develops digital products for international startups — opened the event with a presentation about Supabasean open-source alternative to Firebase.
Supabase offers modern functionalities such as relational databases, authentication, auto-generated APIs, and storage, all in a simple and developer-friendly way.
Alex also discussed MCP (Model Context Protocol) — an emerging standard that enables AI agents to connect to multiple data sources — and demonstrated how it can be integrated with Supabase through a series of live demos.

Melissa AbdulaFullstack Developer at AdminTools.io, presented how their team uses Supabase in the development of their product. AdminTools is an intelligent cloud management platform, powered by AI, that automates resource allocation, scaling, and infrastructure configuration to reduce costs by up to 90%, regardless of the cloud provider.
Melissa spoke about testing, integration into the workflow, and the direct impact on development speed.

Cătălin Cenac, co-founder of Ambasada and Solution Architect at OKAPI, delivered two hands-on presentations aimed at showing how we can scale products with the help of AI:
- Trigger.dev – a live demo showing how you can automate complex business processes (such as extracting and completing data about locations or companies) using AI agents and external services (Google Maps, banking APIs, web crawling, etc.), all orchestrated in a controlled, scalable, and observable way.
- Firebase Genkit – an introduction to "agentic" workflows, meaning AI-driven automations capable of making decisions, learning, and acting independently. Cătălin demonstrated how such a system can be built in JavaScript using Genkit, with a focus on simplicity, testability, and scalability for production environments.
Networking and Plans for Upcoming Events
After the presentations, participants continued discussions over a glass of wine offered by Crama Darie, in a relaxed and open atmosphere. The evening ended with fresh ideas, valuable connections, and excitement for what's coming next.

The event once again confirmed that Constanța has an active, curious, and growth-ready tech community. And Ambasada is here to support this energy — with events dedicated to founders, professionals, and everyone who wants to build something meaningful.
The next meetups are already in progress.
