Local producers, artisans, and entrepreneurs from Dobrogea are invited to participate in the World Food Gift Challenge, an international competition that promotes the most representative gastronomic gifts from regions around the world.

During this period Flavours of Dobrogea is organizing the pre-selection stage for Dobrogea, during which the products that will represent the region internationally will be chosen.

Organizers are looking for products that can be offered as a „food gift” – un produs local, de calitate, care spune o poveste despre locul din care provine, să poată fi oferit sau transportat ușor. Pot fi atât produse alimentare, cât și obiecte inspirate din tradițiile culinare.

Eligible products include honey and beekeeping products, wines or local beverages, cured meats and traditional preserved products, jams, syrups, and artisanal preserves, as well as items made from local ingredients or gift boxes and curated sets featuring products from Dobrogea.

In addition, gastronomy-related items can also be submitted, such as wooden spoons, traditional ceramics, or utensils inspired by local cuisine.

To be eligible, the product must be locally made, artisanal (not industrial), tell a story about Dobrogea, and be available for purchase online.

The application deadline is April 5.

Products selected in this stage will have the opportunity to represent Dobrogea in the World Food Gift Challenge, alongside similar products from other regions around the world.
