Dobrogea is advancing in its candidature for the title of European Region of Gastronomy 2029, and the promotion of local experiences through digital platforms is becoming an essential element in strengthening this effort.
In this context, we invite websites, blogs, apps and digital projects from the region that promote gastronomy, culture and responsible tourism to apply for the prestigious international competition Top Foodie Websites 2026, organized by the IGCAT – International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism.

What is the “Top Foodie Websites” competition?
Top Foodie Websites is a global programme dedicated to recognising outstanding digital projects that promote:
- local gastronomy,
- culture and heritage,
- authentic visitor experiences,
- esponsible and sustainable tourism.
The purpose of the competition is to offer international visibility to projects that create bridges between local producers, artisans, independent businesses, guides, tour operators and visitors from around the world.
Who can participate?
Eligible participants include websites and digital initiatives (websites, blogs, apps) that promote experiences such as:
- wine or local product tastings
- visits to farms and producers
- cooking classes and culinary demonstrations
- gastronomic routes
- craft workshops
- markets, fairs, or festivals
- cultural experiences connected to food heritage
To qualify, platforms must enable online bookings or direct inquiries in a clear and accessible manner.
How are submissions evaluated?
An international jury of IGCAT experts evaluates the projects based on three main areas:
1. Website usability (technical aspects)
- well-structured interface
- easy navigation
- multilingual accessibility
2. Content and quality of the experiences offered
- sustainability
- cross-sector collaborations (gastronomy, culture, tourism)
- educational elements
- connection to the region and local producers
- creativity and uniqueness
3. Booking process
- clear descriptions
- simple booking flow
- additional information (transport, accessibility, etc.)
